Sometimes, inspiration leads us towards novel solutions. This is what happened when designing the Filippo coffee table, which is a truly unique piece of furniture. Our designers started off with a disc cut from an aged, gnarled poplar trunk. We then coloured it black using a specialised burning technique, sealed it with a matte lacquer and sanded the surface to achieve an ultra‑smooth finish. The end result speaks for itself. This coffee table is truly a work of art, blending effortless natural beauty with unquestionable modernity. Its black colour allows it to seamlessly blend into various seating arrangements—and let's face it, it’s sure to steal the show! The Filippo coffee table is utterly unique as the distinctive growths on the poplar bark as well as the cracks that formed during the drying process all contribute to the table’s aesthetic appeal.
